What goes on here :
Compressed deep in the earth, calcium carbonate remains formed limestone karsts which was trust up 30 million years ago when two continental plate collided forming a labyrinth of cave chambers and passageways. Surat Thani, Phang Nga, Krabi and Trang provinces are the areas in South Thailand where karst intrusions are most pronounced. Bor Thor is home to rich fauna and flora and towering karst mountain that create lagoons, caves and canyons suitable as kayaker’s paradise. The high number of ancient paintings found in caves proved the existence of a prehistoric trading seafarers from neighbouring countries taking shelter here during the monsoon season when the sea condition is not suitable for sailing. Hit the water and sweat it up by kayaking to enjoy and appreciate the spectacular scenery of the lowland mangrove forest. Paddle to see “Tham Lod Tai” where a dramatic tunnel cuts through a limestone mountain decorated with thousands of well-formed stalactites, and then visit “Tham Pee Hua Toh” which is Krabi’s most celebrated cave for prehistoric paintings. Paddle to see “Tham Khao Wong” a gorgeous inner lagoon and then continue to “Tham Lod Nua”, a cave with splendid stalactites and stalagmites formations.
